ANNOUNCING THE REOPENING OF THE HIPPEST ART GALLERY IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA! SPACE:EIGHT

When you think of an art gallery owner, 90% of the time, the image that comes to mind is that of a condescending Englishman in a bow tie and suit, looking over his glasses explaining to you the importance of fine art.

Not in the case of the impressive Mr. Rob Depiazza. This surf boarding, snow mobile loving, Los Angeles native, debunks that prim image; for he is the owner of Northeast Florida's hippest art gallery, SPACE:EIGHT!

Located  in downtown St. Augustine, Fla. at 228 West King Street, SPACE:EIGHT, formerly The Gallery at Screen Arts, reopening is scheduled for Fall 2011.

The gallery's wonderfully animated founder encourages everyone to attend the reopening, "Hey Kids, he affectionately calls his supporters; our plans to reopen the gallery is scheduled in October for the First Friday Artwalk, Oct. 7th. We're bringing back some of the previous artists we've exhibited in the past along with some fresh new faces from around the country. It's going to be super swell and I hope to see all y'all soon!"

St. Augustine's First Friday Artwalk is a free self guided tour of area art galleries. This event runs from May 6th-Dec.2nd. The downtown event includes complimentary refreshments, live entertainment, free Old Town Trolley ride, and fascinating exhibits! First Friday Artwalks are from 5pm-9pm, "Rain or Shine!" Noted artist, Scott Dupree, a pop surrealist with a French decorative realism flair from Atlanta, Georgia will be the featured artist for the reopening of SPACE:EIGHT. The former nomadic artist describes his paintings as a canvas for creative dialogue of our historical past choreographed with our present to create an independent interpretation by the future.
